Warm Spiced Chai Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe
What could be better on a cold winter’s morning than a beautiful warm spiced chai oatmeal smoothie? This thick and creamy smoothie will please all chai lovers, and it is so easy to put together making it a perfect choice for breakfast on the run in one of our reusable pouches.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this scrumptious smoothie:
A chai teabag, a banana, some boiling water, milk, quick oats, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Plus some honey or vanilla for sweetness if desired.
Steep the tea bag in the hot water with the spices and allow to brew for up to three minutes, depending on how strong you like your chai tea. After the tea has brewed, pour it into a blender with a banana, some quick oats and your favourite milk and blitz well to combine. This smoothie is super simple and so yummy!
This recipe makes enough smoothie mixture to fill two 140ml reusable pouches – one smoothie with breakfast and one for morning tea! Reheat in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes and enjoy!
1 Chai tea bag
1/3 cup boiling water
250ml warm milk (use whatever milk you prefer, soy, almond, full cream etc)
1/8 tsp of ground cinnamon (a “dash”)
1/8 tsp of ground ginger (a “dash”)
1/16 tsp of ground nutmeg (a “pinch”)
1/16 tsp of ground cardamom (a “pinch”)
1/4 tsp vanilla (optional)
1/2 cup of quick oats
1 tbsp honey (optional)
- Place your Chai tea bag into the water and let steep for 2-3 minutes.
- Add your warm milk, spices and vanilla (if using) and stir to combine.
- Pour into blender with the banana, quick oats and honey (if using) and blitz until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately or pour into reusable pouches.
If preferred, you could add some protein powder to the smoothie.
