Warm Gingerbread Smoothie Recipe
I’m always on the lookout for warming winter smoothies to enjoy in the cooler months. This warm gingerbread smoothie fits that bill perfectly. With creamy banana, almond milk and a bevvy of spices, this smoothie is definitely one to try if you love the flavours of gingerbread!
As with most smoothies, this recipe is super simple to make. You just pop all the ingredients into a blender or smoothie maker and blitz until smooth and creamy. Then gently warm the mixture in the microwave for a delicious treat that will give you an instant pick me up.
Here is what you’ll need to make this amazingly tasty smoothie.
You’ll need some almond milk, a banana, ginger powder, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. You could use cows milk if you prefer, but it will taste a little different. Place everything into your smoothie maker and process until smooth. Heat and enjoy now or pour into some 140ml pouches for a quick pick me up throughout the day.
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 ripe banana, cut into smaller pieces
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon of ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Place the almond milk, banana and the spices into a blender or smoothie maker and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and sprinkle with extra ground cinnamon or pour into 140ml reusable pouches and refrigerate until required. Do not place hot liquids into your blender or smoothie maker as the pressure may cause the glass to explode or hot liquid to splash everywhere. Heat your smoothie separately in the microwave after it has been blended. To reheat the pouches, place in a bowl of hot water until the smoothie has reached the required temperature.
