Strawberry Lemonade Slushies Recipe

My children love slushies and are always nagging me for those $1 slushies that all the fast food outlets seem to have at this time of year. But while I can’t deny how yummy a bright purple “sour grape” slushie must be, they are full of sugar and synthetic flavourings.

And this is where this amazing recipe for strawberry lemonade slushies comes in!

This recipe does contain sugar in the lemonade and lemon sorbet, but these slushies are still miles ahead of the fast food versions — they contain actual fruit, for starters!

My kids love nothing more on a hot afternoon than to come home from school and be greeted by a cool refreshing strawberry lemonade slushie. And I am only too happy to make them! Can you imagine how good they’d be with a little dash of Limoncello or Malibu? Oh my!

Here are the stars of the slushie, the two main ingredients:

Frozen sliced strawberries and a tub of lemon sorbet. They are both available for about $4 each in the frozen desserts section of your local supermarket. And you could probably make at least 6 to 8 serves of this slushie recipe with one packet of sliced strawberries and one tub of sorbet. So it ends up comparable in price to those fast food slushies anyway!

This recipe is super simple to make as well — just pop all the ingredients into a blender or smoothie maker and blitz until smooth. Serve in nice glassware and enjoy the fruity refreshing cool drink immediately.

Spoon the slushie into top opening pouches for the little ones to enjoy without spillage!

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen sliced strawberries
1 cup lemon sorbet
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup lemonade
2 tbsp lemon juice

Method:
