Pumpkin Peach & Mango Puree Pouch Recipe

If you are searching for a fun, fruity puree to pack into your children’s lunchboxes, stop looking because we’ve found the best one! This Pumpkin Peach and Mango Puree is sweet and fruity with a little hint of cloves, and with an added hit of ground flax seeds for fibre, protein and omega-3 fatty acids, it’s super healthy too!

Far from being thought of as just baby food, fruit and veggie purees are a great lunchbox alternative to tubs of yoghurt or a piece of fruit. You can make these fruit puree pouches as you need them or pop them in the fridge or freezer for another day. Great for those busy mornings!

Here is what you’ll need to make this delicious fruity puree:

One cup of chopped mango, one cup of peaches, one cup of chopped butternut pumpkin, some ground cloves and some ground flaxseeds, found in the health food section of your local supermarket. You can use fresh, tinned or frozen fruit if you like. We used one fresh mango, a tin of peaches in juice and a fresh butternut pumpkin.

While I was making my latest batch, I asked my daughter what colour the puree might turn out. She said purple. I think she’s wearing her sassy pants today.

Cook the pumpkin by adding a couple of tablespoons of water to a microwave safe bowl and heat for about three minutes or until tender.

Then add everything to a high-speed blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Too easy!

Spoon the puree into our 140ml top opening Superhero pouches and store in the fridge or freezer until ready to consume. The puree pouches would be excellent frozen and added to lunchboxes to keep the contents cool while it slowly defrosts ready to eat at lunchtime!


1 cup of peaches, peeled (fresh, tinned or frozen)
1 mango, peeled and chopped (fresh, tinned or frozen)
1 cup of butternut pumpkin, peeled and chopped into cubes
1 tsp ground flax seeds
1/8 tsp ground cloves


  1. Place the butternut pumpkin into a microwave-safe bowl and add two tablespoons of water. Cook for three minutes in the microwave or until tender. Drain.
  2. Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender or food processor and blitz until well combined and pureed.
  3. Spoon into reusable pouches and store in fridge or freezer until ready to consume.
