Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie Recipe
One of my family’s favourite things ever is peanut butter and bananas. They’ll eat it any way they can get it – they spread peanut butter on toast and slice the banana on top, they do the same for fillings in sandwiches, and have begged me to make peanut butter and banana ice cream in the past too! So it made a lot of sense that I wanted to make these peanut butter and banana smoothies for them, and, just as I suspected, they absolutely loved them!
Smoothies are always very easy to make, and this one is no exception. Here are all the things you’ll need to whip up a batch of delicious peanut butter and banana smoothies!
One ripe banana, two big tablespoonfuls of smooth peanut butter, some vanilla yoghurt, milk, cocoa powder, a pinch of salt, and everybody’s favourite – Milo!
Pop all of the ingredients into a smoothie maker, blender or food processor and blitz until smooth and well combined. It will be thick and creamy, but you can add some more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency. My husband prefers his smoothies thick and rich with flavour, but my children prefer them a little thinner so I always add a couple of extra splashes of milk for them.
Just look at that beautiful creamy colour! Yum!!
My family love one of these smoothies in their lunchbox in a reusable pouch, but as they contain peanut butter you should double check that your child’s school or workplace hasn’t banned nut allergens before packing a pouch in their lunchbox. They make perfect breakfasts on the go, too!
We hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as we do!
1 cup vanilla yoghurt
2 large heaped tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
1/3 cup milk (and extra if required)
2 tablespoons of Milo (or other malted milk powder)
1/2 teaspoon of cocoa powder
a pinch of salt
Place all ingredients into a smoothie maker or blender and blitz until smooth and creamy, adding a little extra milk if desired. Serve immediately or place into reusable pouches for lunchboxes.
