Blueberry Yoghurt Smoothie Recipe
What could be better than a cool refreshing blueberry yoghurt smoothie?
Blueberries are in season right now, which means they are much cheaper than in the cooler months when they are out of season. Blueberries are full of vitamins and minerals, and one cup of blueberries contains 24% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin C, 36% of vitamin K and 25% of manganese as well as various other nutrients and antioxidants.
They are also about 85% water, and an entire cup contains only 84 calories.
This fabulously delicious blueberry yoghurt smoothie is super simple to make and contains the following ingredients.
Some of your favourite milk, non-fat plain yoghurt, blueberries and honey.
You can use fresh or frozen blueberries, whatever you prefer depending on whether they are in season or not.
1/2 cup skim milk (or whatever you have on hand)
1/2 cup non-fat plain yoghurt
1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1 teaspoon honey
Put all the ingredients into a blender or smoothie maker and blend until smooth.
This recipe makes about two cups of blueberry yoghurt smoothie mixture to enjoy immediately or pour into 140ml reusable pouches to consume at school or work.
